Fortress Full-Timber Frame

Our garden sheds feature a machine-finished timber frame that serves as a sturdy backbone. The interlocking of the timber at the corners provides additional rigidity and strength, resulting in a highly durable structure.

Typically, sheds are assembled using nuts, bolts, and screws. However, our Duratuf Fortress sheds are built differently, with the cladding firmly attached to the frame using galvanized nails, similar to those used in garages. This method of construction braces the structure and enhances its resilience, enabling it to withstand the test of time.

Fortress Advanced Water Run Off

Surely everybody wants a weatherproof shed? It’s important then, that water flows away from your shed to ensure your valuable gear is kept dry. The unique design of our sheds ensures that water is not trapped on or around them.

Duratuf timber frame sheds feature a unique construction method where the cladding is nailed to the top and bottom plates. This method ensures that water runs away from the shed easily as there are no channels to trap leaves, dirt and water that will leak, or sit and corrode the cladding. (Fig. 1)

Conventional shed designs require a channel at the top and bottom of the shed to hold the cladding together. (Fig. 2)

Fortress kitsets can be modified to allow the wall cladding to extend past the base of the shed when placing on a raised concrete floor. This completely eliminates the possibility of water running back into the base of your shed.

It is necessary to order the Raised Base Modification for the Fortress range at the time of ordering the shed.

WRAP AROUND WEATHER-TIGHT CORNERS

Duratuf Fortress garden sheds feature unique full-size wall sheets that wrap around the corners (Fig. 7), eliminating any corner joins. This gives the shed amazing waterproofing qualities and is clearly superior to most conventional corner designs (Fig. 8)

Wrap around corners also provides exceptional bracing strength and eliminates any sharp edges.

Timber Floor Kit

Duratuf Timber floor kits create a strong, level working platform that fits inside the shed and on top of the bottom plate, not underneath like other sheds. Which allows the cladding to extend below the floor level for superior weatherproofing. Comes with installation fixings an attractive doorway flashing.

200mm Extra Wall Height

If you require a little more head space in your Duratuf garden shed, simply opt for the Extra Head Height Option. This is especially useful in a workshop situation where you are spending a lot of time working in your shed.

Coastal Warranty Upgrade

Because we are so confident in the quality of our cladding, we back it up with a 30-year warranty in non-coastal regions (conditions apply). For those sheds in coastal areas, we also offer a high-durability grade of cladding option for your peace of mind. With an extra thick layer of zinc-aluminium protection, our Coastal grade cladding provides enhanced resistance to the harsh conditions in New Zealand’s coastal environment.

Clear Roof Panels

Duratuf Clear Roof Panels provide UV free natural daylight inside your shed. This is perfect if you are using your shed for a workshop and need light while the door may be closed.

Bolt Down Kit

If your shed is to be attached to a concrete floor or base, the Bolt Down Kit allows you to securely anchor your shed without damaging either your concrete pad or the timber frame of the shed.

Peg Down Kit

Perfect for anchoring your garden shed on ground such as grass, dirt or metal. The 6 x H5 treated pegs are driven into the ground and screws to the bottom plate with the stainless steel screws provided.

Shed Alarm

This innovative mains free shed alarm is easily fixed inside the framing of your Duratuf shed. Features an ultra-loud 130db siren.

5-Tier Shelf Unit

Maximise your storage space with this bolt free interlocking kitset shelf unit. Each shelf support has a 350kg load rating with quality MDF shelves. Built to last with a galvanised frame it is an ideal complement to your Duratuf shed.

Tool Board

Organise your workspace with the Duratuf Built-in Tool Board. Different sizes are available to fit into the end wall of most sheds. They come cut to fit and complete with ply, extra framing and installation hardware.

Built-in Workbench

It’s a bloke thing - a built-in workbench that’s solid enough to mount your vice on and tough enough to take the hard knocks. Different sizes are available for most models and are custom built to fit into the end wall of the sheds.

Heavy Duty Workbench

For a solid working area and extra storage capacity you need a heavy duty work bench. This well designed bench has a unique lock together construction with a 250Kg load rating per shelf support. Approximate size: 1140mm W x 500mm D x 900mm H

3 - Steel Cladding Duratuf warrants that the metal roofing and wall cladding will not perforate due to corrosion within the following periods:

- Standard Non-Coastal Warranty – 30 years if located greater than 2,000m from saltwater, or 15 years if located between 1,000m and 2,000m from saltwater.

- With Coastal Upgrade Option – 30 years if located greater than 1,000m from saltwater, or 15 years if located between 500m and 1,000m from saltwater.
