Structural Timber Framing

Like all Duratuf sheds the Lifestyle Range features a robust timber frame.
This not only gives them a solid structural backbone, it gives you plenty of options when it comes to hanging up tools, or adding shelves and workbenches.

All framing timber is machine gauged, appropriately treated, and sourced from renewable New Zealand pine forests. Roof beams are hi-span structural beams for the ultimate in strength and durability.

No Building Consent Required Under 30sqm

The Duratuf Lifestyle sheds over 10m² have been reviewed and certified by a chartered professional engineer. This means you may not need a building consent to build one provided you meet other local council regulations and other exemption criteria. Plans, along with a PS1, are available to help with your consent application should you require one.

Please note that Lifestyle Range models over 30m² may require building consent due to their size, depending on your local council’s regulations.

Superior Weatherproofing

Water is the last thing you want inside your shed. While some sheds have steel channels that allow it to pool and corrode, Duratuf Lifestyle sheds have effective flashings and a large spouting connected to a downpipe for quick discharge or diversion to a water tank.

Aluminium Opening Window

A high quality NZ manufactured aluminum joinery opening window is perfect to let extra light and ventilation when you need it into your shed. You can choose to have it match the cladding colour, the door colour, or any other available colour you prefer. The flashings surrounding the window must match the other flashings on your shed. Window measures 970mm W x 520mm H.

Pedestrian Access Door

Take your accessibility up a notch with a pedestrian access door (810mm W x 1920mm H). The door is steel framed and can be the same colour as the shed or cabin, the roller door or ranch slider, or whichever other colour you prefer.

Plywood Floor Kit

Upgrade your Lifestyle Range shed with our Plywood Floor Kit — a strong, reliable base designed for everyday use. This kit provides a solid, level platform that improves durability, keeps your belongings off the ground, and adds a clean finished look inside your shed.

Includes:

Cut-to-size 17mm H3 plywood sheets, ground-treated H4 joists, treadplate roller door threshold, and all required hardware.

Clear Roof Panel

Duratuf Clear Roof Panels provide UV free natural daylight inside your shed. This is perfect if you are using your shed for a workshop and need light while the door may be closed. Please note that clear roof panels may condensate more than a steel roof during cold weather.

Optional Extra Height

Lifestyle sheds already come with generous wall height, but sometimes a little extra makes all the difference. With our optional 390mm wall height upgrade, you’ll enjoy more space to move, better storage for tall items, and extra comfort for taller users. It’s also ideal for creating a roomier, more practical workshop.

Very High Wind Upgrade Kit

Built with safety, strength, and durability in mind, the Lifestyle shed range has a timber-reinforced heavy-duty construction, engineered to NZS 3604 High Wind Zone specification. The Lifestyle shed can withstand most of Mother Nature’s wear and tear, but for those Very High Wind Zone areas, we offer a NZS 3604 Very High Wind Zone shed upgrade kit for Lifestyle sheds, Cabins and Workshops.

Snow Load Upgrade Kit

Live in New Zealand’s high country where snowfalls are regular? We have you covered with a NZS 3605 standard 1 kPa engineered load rating on all our Lifestyle sheds.

However, for those higher elevation areas with severe snow, the Snow Load Upgrade Kit is a perfect addition to your Lifestyle shed, with a 2kPa upgrade Snow Load kit option to suit NZS 3604 standards, reinforcing the shed's inner roof structure.

This kit is only available for the following models: Whitford, Otago, Havelock, Kapiti, Glenburn, Ardmore, Oxford, Wairarapa and Paihia.

Coastal Warranty Upgrade

Because we are so confident in the quality of our cladding, we back it up with a 30-year warranty in non-coastal regions (conditions apply).

For those sheds in coastal areas, we also offer a high-durability grade of cladding option for your peace of mind. With an extra thick layer of zinc-aluminium protection, our Coastal grade cladding provides enhanced resistance to the harsh conditions in New Zealand’s coastal environment.

1 - Manufacturing Defects Duratuf warrants that their Lifestyle and Premium Sheds will be free from manufacturing defects for 30 years. This warranty also covers components which are missing or damaged at time of despatch from the factory.

2 - Structural Framing Duratuf warrants the durability of the structural framing for 30 years.

3 - Steel Cladding Duratuf warrants that the metal roofing and wall cladding will not perforate due to corrosion within the following periods:

- Standard Non-Coastal Warranty – 30 years if located greater than 2,000m from saltwater, or 15 years if located between 1,000m and 2,000m from saltwater.

- With Coastal Upgrade Option – 30 years if located greater than 1,000m from saltwater, or 15 years if located between 500m and 1,000m from saltwater.
